OFF-ROAD JEEP DAILY EXCURSION IN THE BEAUTIFUL NATIONAL PARK OF ASINARA

 

EXCURSION PROGRAM

 

Departure from Stintino Arbour at 9:00/ 9:30: . Boarding on the motorboat or rubber-taxi that leads to the island of Asinara.
Duration of the crossing: 10 ‘by rubber taxi, 30’ by motorboat.
For those who choose the crossing by rubber boat we reserve 10 minutes to head towards natural pools of Fornelli and photograph the crystal-clear water mirror located nearby of the Marine Protected Area.

H  9.20/9.50: Arrival in Fornelli, accommodation on 4×4 vehicles (defender or 8-seater minivan).
Departure for the guided tour through the dirt paths in the southern area of the island, small excursions on foot to admire the landscape, the characteristic vegetation of the island and spot animals (mouflons, white donkeys, horses, wild boars). north area on the concrete road that runs along the various branches of the prison, the ancient villages, the former marine health station of Cala Reale. The route is full of stops to fully enjoy the beauties of the island, take photographs, admire the landscape and the ancient structures of the prison and the museums set up by the Park Authority. Continue along the dirt roads and the concrete road to the village of Cala d’Oliva. Final stop is the beach of Cala Sabina where you can swim in splendid crystal clear waters.

H 13.00/14.00: Lunch stop: (Packed lunch, to be paid by the visitors). The lunch break can be held either in an equipped area in Cala Reale or in the areas equipped with tables and canopies near the beaches. Bathing is allowed and snorkelling routes can be done independently. (we recommend the necessary equipment)

Ore 16.30/17.30: Arrival in Stintino. The plan is indicative and the times and itineraries indicated may undergo slight changes also based on weather conditions.

 

Cost per person

which include the defender and / or minivan with the Guide / Driver who accompanies you throughout the day are the following:

55 euro: April, May, June, October

60 euro:July, September

65 euro: Agosto

Children aged 3 to 9 pay 10 euros less than the adult price.

Children from 0 to 3 years travel for free (maximum 1 per family) on their parents’ lap. (In the case of a second child aged 0 to 3, the latter pays 25 euros).

Apart from that there is the cost of the crossing which is 20 euros per person + the landing tax of the municipality of Porto torres (2.5 euros per person from October to May and 5 euros per person from June to September. withdrawn in cash by the staff on the boats).

 

Useful tips: Bring water, comfortable clothing, in spring shoes suitable for short walks, in summer we recommend slippers, beach towel, bathing suit, mask and fins. On windy days, a sweatshirt or light jacket for the sea crossing. Off-road vehicles are equipped with basic first aid kits, people allergic to medicines, insects, plants and foods are requested to have antiallergic products. At the moment there is no medical center on the island.
Prohibitions: It is forbidden to bring animals, spearguns, fishing rods and anything prohibited by the Park into the park (inquire on the website www.parcoasinara.org); the use of drones is prohibited.
It is also forbidden to take any type of plant, animal or mineral form away from the island.

IMPORTANT: SAFETY RULES – COVID19
To ensure safety in all phases of the visit, we ask for collaboration from visitors, therefore, as per DPCM, at the moment it is mandatory to use a mask indoors and on board the vehicles, as well as it is mandatory to sanitize your hands before getting on off-road vehicles. It is therefore advisable to bring both the personal mask and the disinfectant gel with you throughout the excursion. Those without a mask will not be allowed access to off-road vehicles. Following the directives of the National Park, according to the Anticovid regulations, the park structures can be visited only by reservation, so notify the guide who accompanies you about the centers of your interest, and he will take care of making the reservation for you to visit the prison or the sea observatory.
